About me

I’m the Executive Editor for News and Politics at Crooked Media, shaping coverage and writing scripts for the company’s flagship podcast, Pod Save America, and overseeing our growing newsletter operation. Before coming to Crooked I was Managing Editor for Podcasts at NBC News, where I oversaw narrative series, including #1 hits Southlake—which won a Peabody Award and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize—American Radical, and Tiffany Dover is Dead.

Before becoming a journalist I worked in politics: as an Assistant Press Secretary in the Obama White House, on Capitol Hill, and on campaigns both regional and national. In March of 2011, I walked out of the West Wing to become a writer and never looked back.

As a magazine writer, my work appeared regularly in New York Magazine, GQ, Rolling Stone, The New Republic, and elsewhere. From 2016–2019 I was Supervising Writer at VICE News Tonight on HBO, overseeing scripts and features and winning an Emmy as part of the team covering the confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh. I joined NBC News as a Senior Producer in December 2019 before moving to the Podcast Unit in 2021. You can use the links above to listen to, watch, and read some of my work.
